Betty Boop Dress

The clothing fashions 1950s still have a following in some places. An April newscast by ABC 7 News reported live from California with scenes of everyday women clad in form-fitting dresses, poodle skirts, pin-curls, and red lipstick à la Joan Crawford, Dolores Del Rio, Rita Hayworth, and other era femme fatales.

Each Betty Boop dress in this category copies the dress styles of the sock-hop and bebop era, but adds some Betty Boop insignia and illustrations for extra flair.

One such retro Betty Boop Dress for grownups is the Betty Boop Complete Black & White Polka Dot Outfit w/ Red Poodle Skirt Chenille & 50′s Blouse. A polka-dot skirt encloses most waist lines with its stretchable elastic waistband. Betty appears on its front wearing a floor-length red skirt and varsity sports blouse—pretty modest clothing for Betty, but then again, she’s imitating the 1950s.

This outfit tops off the skirt with a pink chiffon scarf, a black crinoline petticoat, a black cinch belt, a pair of white bobby socks, eyeglasses, and a blouse (your choice of black or white).
