Betty Boop Games

Like many animated stars that followed her, Betty Boop has very adeptly made the leap from the silver screen to the computer screen. Search the Web and you’ll find a few online Betty Boop games.

The roster starts with an online flash game called “Betty Boop: Big City Adventures.” You drive Betty through city streets and try to catch red kisses and black musical notes while dodging black kisses and blue notes. All the while, you’re fleeing the clutches of a foul-looking fellow named The Miser.

Downshifting to a somewhat slower pace is the flash game “Betty Boop Dress Up!” You meet a semi-dressed Betty in a wardrobe full of dresses and garments, and you put together outfits for her to wear. You get to mix and match blouses, pants, jewelry, and hat wear to your heart’s content.

The “Betty Boop: Psychedelic Blocks Game” is one of the more challenging Betty Boop games. It resembles Tetris. You’re presented with a large field of colored blocks and have to strategically remove blocks of different colors. Blocks of the same color disappear together if you click one and they are bordering each other. The goal is to have as few stray blocks left over at the end as possible.

If you like crossword puzzles, then you’ll love “Betty Boop: Word Search Game.” Hidden in a square grid of letters are the names of characters from Betty Boop’s show. Your mission is to find them. The names to find are listed on the side. So don’t worry if you haven’t seen many Betty Boop episodes and have never heard of Dizzy Dishes before.

There are many other Betty Boop games that you get to play off the computer. This category includes Betty Boop Tic Tac Toe, consisting of a nine-square game board with five Betty pieces and five Pudgy pieces (the Xes and the Os). Checkers also gets a new twist: Betty Boop Checkers features Betty Boops in red dresses squaring off against Betty Boops in black dresses. Either of these might make a great side attraction at your next house party.

You might also entertain your party guests with a deck of Betty Boop playing cards. One two-deck set includes a deck with an image of Betty Boop and the words “Born to Be Bad” on back of every card; the other has an image of Pudgy and “Bad to the Bone” on every card’s backside.
