Betty Boop Tattoos

Many twentieth-century pinup girls have made their way onto men’s limbs, chests, and backsides as tattoos. The cartoon character Betty Boop was one of them. Betty Boop tattoos depicting Betty in all kinds of poses and all kinds of outfits are an occasional sight today on the skin of clients exiting tattoo parlours.

If you’re bold enough to get a Betty Boop tattoo, then give some thought to how she will look. You’ll have the tattoo for a while, so it best be one that you’ve considered carefully. For starters, what outfit will she wear?

There are simple tattoos of Betty wearing her signature black or red dress. There are also tattoos of a Hawaiian-style Betty with a lei and grass skirt, a flamenco-like Betty who twirls so that her long skirt flows out in every direction, and a Betty in a famous Marilyn Monroe pose—she has a long, flowing dress whose tresses lift up, evidently blown by currents of air from a grate under her feet. A sailor-suit Betty is another tattoo motif.

Some Betty Boop tattoos include a few props. In some, Betty peers out from behind a big logo bearing her name. There’s also Betty in a bomber jacket and helmet, sitting atop a motorcycle. A few of these biker Betty’s play up the sex appeal. Betty wears a halter top under the jacket and has a ball of fire burning behind her and her bike.

Speaking of fire, a few Betty Boop tattoos portray Betty in red with devil horns and a pitch fork. Another features Betty with the dark robe and scythe of the Grim Reaper. In other tattoos, though, Betty is a benign spiritual force. The Yin-Yang Betty, which shows a Yin-Yang whose dark Yin half widens into Betty with folded hands and a reverent, meditative expression on her face, is a particularly creative example of these.

A few very saucy individuals get tattoos of Betty Boop wearing nothing at all. Obviously, give a lot of thought before you get this one. It won’t offend your friends or prospective girlfriend/wife will it? And put it someplace where it won’t be too conspicuous, lest your imagination regarding tattoos get you in trouble at your office.

Most Betty Boop tattoos are far more tasteful. Some can be very charming, like the moonlight Betty Boop. This has a sleepy Betty and Pudgy lounging on a crescent moon, both chilling out in their respective dreamlands.
