Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Car

Some of the toys out on the market today have been selling strong for decades, and yet they’ve hardly changed at all. The Little Tikes Cozy Coupe car is one of them. You might remember its bright red body and yellow top from your younger days. You got a kick out of scooting along the playroom floor, steering the wheel to and fro and honking the horn as you went along.

Your kids might have no less fun in a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe car. It’s the same old car you knew and loved, though with a few new amenities—auto technology has come a ways since this car first hit toy stores back in the 1970s, and that goes for real cars and toy cars alike.

Among the new features are a handle on the back for parents to push (if you’re a kid, moving the car with your own feet will be fun for a while, and good exercise, but it can tire you out). If you want to push the car, your kid inside might want something on which to rest his or her feet. Enter the next new feature: a floor.

You can remove the floor for when your kid is done being pushed and wants to “drive” on his or her own. Like so many Little Tikes toys nowadays, this one gives you options for types of play. Sometimes your kid wants to play together with you, and sometimes your kid wants his or her space. Either way, this Little Tikes Cozy Coupe car will be entertaining.

In addition, you’ll find a few amenities that mimic the features of real cars. There is a gas cap that opens and closes, an “ignition switch,” and a rear trunk that opens to hold items inside a hollowed-out storage area.

There is some assembly required with this one. It’s about 50 pieces in total that you’ll need to fit together. Don’t sweat it, though. As long as you have a hammer and screwdriver at hand, you’ll have it all in one piece and ready to roll before you know it.

For extra-authentic automotive fun, you can buy the car in a set with an accompanying electronic sounds gas pumper. The gas pumper has a gas spigot that detaches and fits right into the car’s gas nozzle. A set of buttons lets kids decide among several types of “gas” and punch in pretend payments.
