Little Tikes Kitchens

Some young kids can hardly wait for the day when they’ll be old enough to use stove tops and ovens and cook their own food. In the meanwhile, they have an impressive array of Little Tikes kitchens to keep them entertained. The Little Tikes kitchens series includes comprehensive play stoves with stovetops and other kitchen gear for those youngsters who like playing chef. Each unit enhances the experience with awesome sound and visual effects.

The Little Tikes kitchens series includes the Little Tikes Sizzle N Serve Kitchen. This unit has it all: a stainless-steel grill, a working ice maker, fabric wicker baskets for storage, pot hangers with wooden pots included, two ovens, a counter with a play sink, and a play microwave. The grill is situated on the left-hand side and attached to the rest of the unit, but it swings out for an optional L-shaped layout. There is even a phone and coffee maker. In all, this unit recreates the real kitchen experience to a T.

This kitchen’s namesake isn’t for nothing: It really does have sizzle, courtesy of the grill whose burners light up and create realistic sound effects. The burners are pretend. But the ice maker isn’t. Genuine ice cubes roll out at the press of its button.

The Little Tikes Super Chef Kitchen is a little more compact, but is a great play kitchen unit all the same. It’s got a refrigerator door that opens up to a space inside for storing food. Cabinets up on top offer more storage area. There is also an oven, a microwave, an imitation-chrome towel rail, and a play phone. Plus, there is an array of kitchen ware: plates, cups, knives, spoons, a coffee pot, and a frying pan. This kitchen makes special effects, too: Click the knobs for the oven burners, and cooking sounds are produced.

Maybe you’d like something smaller and simpler. If so, then the Little Tikes Mudpie Kitchen would be a good bet. It’s an outdoor kitchen unit that makes genuine mud pies. The unit includes a mud mixer that your kid turns by a hand crank to make the head pivot up and down. There is also a sink that actually pours water from out of its internal water reservoir (this you refill as needed). Also included are a large mixing bowl, a sink strainer, a mixing spoon, a measuring cup, a pie tin, and a cutting board.
