Little Tikes Log Cabin
Young kids with high energy and plenty of imagination could have tons of fun with a Little Tikes log cabin. It’s a Wild West frontier-style play house that offers abundant play space and sturdy materials for a youngster and up to two of his or her friends to play house in and have a great time all the while.
The Little Tikes log cabin includes a pretend fireplace and stone doorway accompanied. A combination serving table and grill are inside for your youngster to serve up pretend frontier grub. Two large windows afford him or her ample views of the frontier outside, and a good lookout for bandits, buffalo, or what-have-you.
There is also a play phone in the Little Tikes Log Cabin (okay, it’s not exactly like the Wild West) for pretend calls back home to civilization. In addition, the working Dutch door and shutters make for fun hide-and-seek play. As you can surely tell, there is just one opportunity after another for imaginative social play. The recommended age is two years and older.
Many online inventories carry it. This will probably be a better option for you than finding it in a store, since a Web purchase means convenient truck delivery. The whole thing is around 118 pounds—you could carry it home yourself, but would you really want to?
Once you’ve gotten it into your home, move it to an ideal location of your choosing. Carpeted surfaces are highly recommended. Asphalt, wood, concrete, and any other hard surfaces are not. Conveniently for you, it’s fairly small: 4 feet, 3 inches long; 3 feet, 11 inches wide, and 4 feet, 11 inches high. Your youngster will have plenty of room for play, but not too much. Any medium-sized basement will accommodate it with no problem.
Once that’s out of the way, congratulations: The hardest part is over. You will have some assembling to do, but none of it will be too complicated. Just make sure you have a screwdriver (an electric one would be ideal, less grunt work for you) on hand to attach the components by the included screws.
Since a lot of small parts are involved, it might be wise to get all the assembling done in one foul swoop. You don’t want to leave the loose pieces unattended, for obvious safety reasons. Fortunately, this shouldn’t be too hard. An hour or two, and you should have your cabin ready for action.
