What do you think of when you hear the word “summer”? If you’re a kid, you’ll think of hot days. But you’ll probably also think of cooling off in the refreshing blue of a pool or a water slide. As far as backyard toys go, the Little Tikes Rocky Mountain River Race is a giant: 10 feet high, 15 feet wide, and 15 feet long. Why so big? Because it’s practically a water park ride made just small enough for you to set up at home. Within its bulk are a wading pool and a climbing rock wall that leads up to two water slides, each of which lead back down into the pool. Spray hoods pour strong streams of water down each slide’s surface, and a dump bucket pours volleys of water down from the top of the climbing rock wall.

It’s all inflatable, but you’ll find a blower included that provides a continuous, and very powerful, air current to pump it up and keep it pumped. A built-in GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) controls the blower’s electric current to prevent electric shocks.

In addition, the unit comes with a set of stakes that you hammer into the ground to hold the entire unit in place. A repair kit is also included in every package. Though with the puncture-resistant material that constitutes the unit, you’ll rarely have to use it.

Ages 5 to 10 are the recommended age group for this water ride. With its spacious play area, as many as seven kids could splash and slide in its water at one time. For your kids, it will be a summer party in their backyard any time they like.

The climbing wall is lined bottom to top with easy-grip handles, so its slippery surface is not too daunting for the average kid. Risk of falling is minimal.
